In Hotel Transylvania 3, Mavis (Selena Gomez) realises how stressed out her father, Count Dracula (Adam Sandler) is after spending so many years working at the hotel. She suggests a vacation and the entire hotel goes on a cruise.

A large portion of the movie happens on the cruise with the monsters enjoying themselves. They get moontans, Wayne (Steve Buscemi) and Wanda (Molly Shannon) get a break from taking care of their werewolf pups, leaving them with the staff onboard which ensues in a lot of hilarity. There’s also the playful antics of Griffin (David Spade) the invisible man and Blobby, voiced by the director Genndy Tartakovsky.

Abraham Van Helsing (Jim Gaffigan) plots to destroy monster on the cruise, but this is complicated by the romance subplot when Dracula zings with the Captain of the boat, Ericka Van Helsing (Kathryn Hahn). At the same time, chaos unfolds as Dennis (Asher Blinkoff) and Winnie (Sadie Sandler) sneak their humongous dog, Tinkles up the boat as well. The plot is predictable, yet the humour keeps the audience going as the action scenes are fascinating to watch. The movie drives home the importance of family through the heart-warming scenes of how the monsters all enjoy having fun together on the cruise, even though it offers all the same services in Dracula’s own hotel; the only difference being that they are on a ship.

Hotel Transylvania 3 has a stunning cast of characters that are all exquisitely designed. The film is saved by the characters which are all vastly different and interesting in and of themselves. There is intense detail paid to the designing of the action scenes, accompanied with a great soundtrack. The movie is funny, easy to understand and would appeal to audiences of all ages, making it inclusive and family friendly.
