The UK film that touched the hearts of many, Tyrannosaur is Paddy Considine's debut feature where he won the Directing Award and Special Jury Prize at the 2011 Sundance Film Festival and Outstanding Directorial Debut at the 2012 BAFTA Awards.

Synopsis
The story centres on Joseph (Peter Mullan), a man plagued by violence and a rage that is driving him to self-destruction. As his life spirals into turmoil, a chance at redemption appears in the form of Hannah (Olivia Colman), a married Christian charity shop worker who takes pity on him. However, Hannah is harbouring a dark secret of her own, one that threatens to fracture their relationship and bring devastating consequences to both of their lives.

About Paddy Considine
Paddy Considine found success as an actor first in films such as A Room for Romeo Brass (1999), Last Resort (2000), In America (2002), and in particular, Dead Man’s Shoes (2004). Later, he did memorable supporting turns in more mainstream pictures such as Cinderella Man (2005), Hot Fuzz (2007) and The Bourne Ultimatum (2007). It was only in 2011 that Considine tried his hand in directing with Tyrannosaur. When asked about why he switched from acting to directing, he responded by criticising the low-budget British film which was all about “getting a hand-held camera, swinging it around, improvising…”, and that this technique has been so widely bastardised that he just wanted to make a movie on his own.
