Award-winning Documentary 'Beyond Beauty: Taiwan From Above' to be Screened this August!

Apart from enjoying the critically-acclaimed documentary, director Chi Po-Lin and producer Tseng Chiung-Yao will be making appearances at the two gala premiere screenings in Singapore.

Following its success at the 2nd Singapore Chinese Film Festival, The Filmic Eye announced the Singapore theatrical release of Taiwanese Director Chi Po-Lin’s critically acclaimed <看见台湾> Beyond Beauty: Taiwan From Above, a documentary featuring Taiwan from the aerial perspective, exclusively at Cathay Cineplex Cineleisure Orchard and Jem from 28 August 2014.

Released in Taiwan last November, the film has played in cinemas there for over 4 months and grossed more than NT$200 million at the box office, setting a new record for the highest grossing documentary film ever in Taiwan.

看见台湾 Beyond Beauty: Taiwan from Above is the first film documenting Taiwan
with aerial photography. Through the lens of veteran aerial photographer Chi Po-Lin
and his team, audiences are able to explore Taiwan from a height and angle, producing a remarkable visual treat that has never been seen before.

看见台湾 Beyond Beauty: Taiwan from Above theatrical release in Singapore will be paired up in a special Double Bill Showcase with the award-winning short film Oh Lucy! Directed by Atsuko Hirayanagi as her graduating thesis short film at NYU Tisch School of the Arts Asia, the short film recently won the second prize at the Cinefondation Section of the prestigious 2014 Cannes Film Festival. Oh Lucy! will be screened before the feature presentation of Beyond Beauty: Taiwan from Above during the entire theatrical run at Cathay Cineplexes.
