It’s been 10 years since Japanese coed group, AAA (Attack All Around), or widely known as ‘Triple A’ steps out of Japan for an Asia tour ‘
AAA Asia Tour 2015 - Attack All Around
’ and Singapore is the 1st stop of their 10th anniversary tour.
“I’m really surprised at the turnout from our fans here in Singapore. I didn’t expect to see so many fans waiting for us today,” said Takahiro Nishijima at the open press conference at held at Bugis+.
To the delight of their fans, many were able to catch a glimpse of the band members; one fan even came as early as 8.30am to grab the best spot to meet her idols.
The anniversary concert in Singapore has been sold-out and fans can expect a more intimate session with AAA, to which Nishijima hopes to ‘get closer to the fans with their performances’.
28-year-old Mitsuhiro Hidaka promises an interesting set-list with delightful costumes that will make their fans ‘waku waku’ (excited) for their concert. He said: “Some of what the fans will be able to see at our concert tomorrow are only exclusive to this Asian tour and we want the fans to be excited for our future events here in Singapore.”
Apart from trying tourists’ favourite local green cake - Pandan cake, at the press conference, the group members expressed their excitement in visiting some of Singapore’s top destinations like the Gardens By The Bay, Night Safari and G-Max.
In their 10 years, AAA has experimented with different genres of music, most notably singing the opening theme song, ‘Wake up!’ for the anime ‘One Piece’. Despite playing a vast range of music genres, Naoya Urata explained that AAA doesn’t have a ‘favourite genre of music’.
“We do sing a wide range of a different types of songs, but we don’t categorise them into the different genres. As long as Triple A performs it, that will become our brand of music - the Triple A genre.”
If you didn’t mange to grab tickets for their concert tomorrow at *Scape, fret not as the band says they are ’99% sure’ they will be back for another concert in Singapore!
