Jack Neo’s Long Long Time Ago Tops Box Office Chart over CNY Holidays!

The kampong-themed movie, Long Long Time Ago, tops the local box office chart during the 6-day Chinese New Year long weekend with S$1.65million. The film was released islandwide last Thursday, 4th February, on 59 screens.

The movie stars local veteran artistes including MediaCorp’s Aileen Tan陈丽贞, famous presenter-actor Mark Lee 李国煌, well-known getai celebrity Wang Lei 王雷 and Malay actor Suhaimi Yusof.

It beat other films like From Vegas to Macau III, The Monkey King 2, Let’s Eat and Mermaid, which are expected to be very well-received with local audiences as well.

“We are very encouraged not only by the box office results but also the positive feedback from audience who have seen the movie. We are extremely pleased that our kampung story can reach out to both the older and younger generations of Singapore!” says Director Jack Neo.
