Did you catch the 74th Golden Globe Awards? It surely was an exciting event. Here are five of our favourite moments.

Best Win - La La Land

Not only did ‘La La Land’ win all the awards it was nominated for, but they also include the major awards. This makes ‘La La Land’ the most awarded film in Golden Globes history.

Best Kiss - Ryan Reynolds & Andrew Garfield

Ryan Reynolds is nominated for ‘Deadpool’ while Andrew Garfield is nominated for ‘Hacksaw Ridge’. Both actors have to go home empty-handed tonight, but they are gaining lots of popularity from tonight’s Golden Globes as they shared a kiss when Ryan Gosling went on stage.

Best Tribute - Carrie Fisher & Debbie Reynolds

The 74th Golden Globes had a short segment to pay tribute to Carrie Fisher & Debbie Reynolds, who passed away at the end of December last year. The clip shows the mother and daughter’s various performances across their illustrious acting careers.

Carrie Fisher was also quoted by Meryl Streep: "As my friend the dear departed Princess Leia said to me once, take your broken heart, make it into art."

Todd Fisher, Carrie’s father, tweeted a thank you for the heartfelt tribute.

Best Introduction Speech - Viola Davis

Award speeches often tend to be very politically correct and safe. Viola Davis’s speech is none of those things. The Best Supporting Actress (Drama) winner does not have to be neutral in introducing Meryl Streep for the Cecil B. DeMille Award. Best Acceptance Speech - Meryl Streep

Her politically slanted acceptance speech has been divisive, to say the least. We admire her decision to use her time to speak out about what she believes in while still making it relevant to Hollywood. The nine-time Golden Globes winner seeks to remind the press and fellow actors and filmmakers about their responsibilities.

Should celebrities stay out of politics? Perhaps. But there is no denying that what they say have a large influence, especially coming from someone with Meryl Streep’s stature. Watch her speech here:
