MM2 ASIA (“MM2”) and FOX Networks Group Asia (“FNGA”), co-producers of More Than Blue, will team up once again to co-invest in and co-produce Memory Eclipse, an original miniseries and a spin-off film inspired by classic hit songs of legendary Taiwanese songbird Teresa Tang.
The project is produced by the Infernal Affairs Trilogy producer John Chong and directed by Bad Boy Symphony director-writer Charles Sun.
Slated for release in Q2 2020, the film stars Yu Hua Sung, Cheryl Yang, Kaiser Chang, Esther Liu, J.C. Lin and Hsin-Ying Hsieh among other cast members.
Memory Eclipse kicks off as a 4 stories anthology miniseries inspired by three classic hit songs performed by the legendary Teresa Teng.
The three songs are 《恰似你的溫柔》(Qiàsì nǐ de wēnróu – English title: Just Like Your Tenderness), 《我只在乎你》(Wǒ zhǐ zàihū nǐ – English title: I Only Care About You), 《月亮代表我的心》(Yuèliàng dàibiǎo wǒ de xīn – English title: The Moon Represents My Heart).
Each song unfolds an individual mini-story which is intertwined with each other to form a full story.
Spinning off from the miniseries, MM2 and FNGA are also concurrently working on a 90-minute film. It is the first time for a Chinese creative production team to develop simultaneously a feature film and a miniseries based on the same stories. The film is expected to release in Q2 2020. It will serve as a prelude to the 5-episode miniseries which will telecast after the release of the film.
Teresa Teng continues to live on, proving the timelessness of her music.
