Cartoons Underground, the Animation festival is back with 19 films!

Celebrating its 8th year, Cartoons Underground - Southeast Asia's first and largest Independent Animation festival - will feature 19 works that were selected from 1,416 entries submitted from 80 different countries. All 19 films will be competing for the Golden Durian Awards featuring Best animation, Audience Choice and the Special Mention award!

The festival features independent award-winning animators from Singapore and beyond, and this year, it launches its first-ever Women in Focus Animation Programme, showcasing films that shine light on representing the female perspective in animation.

Catch award-winning animated films by directors from Ottawa Animation Festival, Zagreb Animation Festival and Edinburgh international film festivals.

This year, the screenings of the animations take place in three 30-mins blocks:

International Competition 1: Look at Us
International Competition 2: Focus on Women in Animation
Singapore Student Animation: Adventure Time!
