Mark your calendars: Netflix’s The Crown Streams this November

The highly-anticipated royal drama starring Olivia Colman as Queen Elizabeth II will drop on November 15th. Gillian Anderson and Emma Corrin joins the cast, playing Margaret Thatcher and Lady Diana Spencer respectively.

Netflix has also dropped a 30-second teaser trailer, with the Queen’s voice-over the words: “Something as important as the monarchy simply cannot be allowed to fail.”

The show will capture the arrival of Margaret Thatcher as prime minister and the often difficult relationship between Prince Charles (Josh O’Connor) and Diana.

The cast will end its run with this season where Imelda Staunton will succeed Colman in Season 5 as Majesty the Queen of England. Fans, you would probably have to wait for another 2 years to catch the next season, so don’t binge on this too quickly! Alternatively, watch all four seasons again.

Synopsis
As the 1970s are drawing to a close, Queen Elizabeth (Olivia Colman) and her family find themselves preoccupied with safeguarding the line of succession by securing an appropriate bride for Prince Charles (Josh O’Connor), who is still unmarried at 30. As the nation begins to feel the impact of divisive policies introduced by Britain’s first female Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher (Gillian Anderson), tensions arise between her and the Queen which only grow worse as Thatcher leads the country into the Falklands War, generating conflict within the Commonwealth. While Charles’ romance with a young Lady Diana Spencer (Emma Corrin) provides a much-needed fairytale to unite the British people, behind closed doors, the Royal family is becoming increasingly divided.
