Titans star Alan Ritchson has landed the lead role in Amazon's upcoming television series, Jack Reacher! He will play the titular character in the drama series based on the character from Lee Child’s international bestselling series of books.
As conceived by Child, the imposing, 6’5″-tall, 210 to 250-pound character of Jack Reacher is a U.S. Army veteran investigating suspicious activities that frequently put him in danger. Casting Ritchson (who's 6’4” and 235 pounds) would make a closer representation of the character as opposed to Tom Cruise who played the role in the 2012 Jack Reacher feature and the 2016 sequel Jack Reacher: Never Go Back.
The first season of the series will be written, executive produced and showrun by Nick Santora. It will be based on the first Jack Reacher novel, The Killing Floor, which is set in Georgia.
Apart from starring as Hank Hall/Hawk in the DC Comics based TV series, Titans, Ritchson has TV series credits that also include major roles on Blood Drive and Smallville, on which he played another DC superhero, Aquaman. The actor has also played Gloss in The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, Raphael in the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles reboot, and Adam in Lazer Team.
