Netflix Promises A New Movie Every Week in 2021. And We’re Not Complaining.

Netflix is here to slay another year.
The streaming giant will release films featuring a whole bunch of your favourite A-list celebrities including Gal Gadot, Dwayne Johnson, Chris Hemsworth, Amy Adams and Zendaya.
In the announcement video trailer, we get a sneak peek of the full list, which ranges from thrillers, rom-coms, action, comedy and even superhero movies.
Some of the highlights include Red Notice, directed by Rawson Marshall Thurber, an action comedy-thriller starring Dwayne Johnson, Ryan Reynolds and Gal Gadot. Another is a zombie apocalypse film Army of the Dead starring Dave Bautista, Ella Purnell, and Omari Hardwick. Leonardo DiCaprio, Jennifer Lawrence, and Jonah Hill star in the new sci-fi film Don’t Look Up.
2021 may not have started on the right note, but this news definitely made your year a little more exciting -something new to look forward to each week!
Here are some of the upcoming works you can look forward to in the next few weeks:
Outside the Wire (January 15)
Set in the future, Harp (Damson Idris), a drone pilot, is sent into a deadly militarized zone where he finds himself working for Leo (Anthony Mackie), an android officer, tasked to locate a doomsday device before the insurgents do. Outside the Wire is directed by Mikael Håfström.
The White Tiger (January 22)
Balram Halwai (Adarsh Gourav) narrates his epic and darkly humorous rise from poor villager to successful entrepreneur in modern India. Cunning and ambitious, our young hero jockeys his way into becoming a driver for Ashok (Rajkummar Rao) and Pinky (Priyanka Chopra Jonas), who have just returned from America. Society has trained Balram to be one thing — a servant — so he makes himself indispensable to his rich masters. But after a night of betrayal, he realizes the corrupt lengths they will go to trap him and save themselves. Penguin Bloom (January 27)
In 2013, Samantha Bloom (two-time Academy Award nominee Naomi Watts), her husband Cameron (The Walking Dead’s Andrew Lincoln) and their three sons left their home in Australia for a holiday in Thailand. While enjoying a view, Sam fell off of a rooftop due to what was later determined to be a rotted railing...breaking her vertebrae in two places. Malcolm & Marie (February 5)
Sam Levinson teams up with Zendaya and John David Washington for an achingly romantic drama in which a filmmaker (Washington) and his girlfriend (Zendaya) return home following a celebratory movie premiere as he awaits what’s sure to be imminent critical and financial success. The evening suddenly takes a turn as revelations about their relationships begin to surface, testing the strength of their love. Working with cinematographer Marcell Rev, Levinson creates a film of rare originality; an ode to the great Hollywood romances as well as a heartfelt expression of faith in the medium's future.
To All the Boys: Always and Forever (February 12)
As Lara Jean Covey prepares for the end of high school and the start of adulthood, a pair of life-changing trips lead her to reimagine what life with her family, friends, and Peter will look like after graduation.
To All the Boys: Always and Forever is the third and final installment in the To All the Boys I've Loved Before film series starring Lana Condor and Noah Centineo. It is based on Jenny Han's 2017 novel Always and Forever, Lara Jean and is a direct sequel to To All the Boys: P.S. I Still Love You (2020).
I Care A Lot (February 19)
Poised with sharklike self-assurance, Marla Grayson (Academy Award nominee Rosamund Pike) is a professional, court-appointed guardian for dozens of elderly wards whose assets she seizes and cunningly bilks through dubious but legal means.
