The DC Universe casts its Supergirl

Young and the Restless Daytime Emmy nominee Sasha Calle has scored the feature role of DC Universe’s new Supergirl! She will make her superhero debut in Warner Bros’ The Flash.

Calle is the first Latina Supergirl ever in DC and was chosen from over 400 actresses who auditioned. The Flash director Andy Muschietti watched all the auditions was blown away by the actress’ toughness and vulnerability that she brought to the role.

The Kryptonian female superhero first made her big screen debut when Helen Slater played her in the 1984 Warner Bros movie Supergirl and later by Melissa Benoist on the Warner Bros TV series of the same name.
