A GOOD CHILD Celebrates World Premiere at Osaka Asian Film Festival Expo 2025-OAFF 2026!

Leading Singaporean actors Richie Koh 许瑞奇, Hong Hui Fang 洪慧芳 and Director Ong Kuo Sin 王国燊 made their highly-anticipated debut appearance at the Osaka Asian Film Festival Expo 2025-OAFF 2026 on 7 September, celebrating the World Premiere of their latest feature film –《好孩子》 A GOOD CHILD!

Featured as the Closing Film of the 10-day film festival, 《好孩子》 A GOOD CHILD captivated a full house at the OAFF Main Venue, the ABC Hall in Osaka.

Richie Koh shares his excitement after the event, “I am deeply humbled by the love and support from the audience in Osaka. Last night was my first interaction with Japanese audience and they were very warm and welcoming. I hope to come back again ASAP!"

Hong Hui Fang expresses her gratitude, “I’m honored to present the poignant Singaporean film A GOOD CHILD as the closing film of the Osaka Asian Film Festival Expo 2025–OAFF 2026, which also marks its World Premiere. I’m delighted to share this film with the Japanese audience and to take this opportunity to offer them a deeper understanding of Singapore’s film and television culture."

Director Ong Kuo Sin adds, “Thank you to the Osaka audience for their love and support for A GOOD CHILD. We are deeply encouraged that this story, set in Singapore, could resonate so strongly with Japanese viewers and evoke such shared emotions of joy and sorrow. After the premiere, one audience member told us they saw our tenderness in the film — a comment that left a deep impression on me."

Written and directed by the acclaimed Ong Kuo Sin (Reunion Dinner), 《好孩子》 A GOOD CHILD explores the poignant story of Jia Hao, a drag queen who returns home to care for his mother, Ju Hua, after years of estrangement. Ju Hua’s dementia diagnosis forces Jia Hao to confront his past and, in an unexpected turn, take on the role of his mother’s long-lost daughter.

This unconventional deception sets the stage for a transformative journey of healing, acceptance, and self-discovery. The film is adapted from the life story of Christopher Lim 林同利, more commonly known for his drag alias –Sammi Zhen 阿真, a full-time drag queen in Singapore.

The film features an ensemble cast, including Mediacorp Artiste Richie Koh 许瑞奇 (The Diam Diam Era, Your World In Mine), Hong Hui Fang 洪慧芳 (Ajoomma, Blooms of Happiness), Johnny Lu 路斯明 (Kin, Imperfect Us), Charlie Goh 吴清樑 (Ah Boys To Men), and Cheryl Chou 周智慧 (Furever Yours, Devil Behind The Gate). Together, they bring to life a powerful narrative about family reconciliation, identity, and the unbreakable bond of love.
