We had not heard much about ‘The Fortune Handbook’ up to a month before its release date. But a trailer was released just before the year end to let us know what to expect.
‘The Fortune Handbook’ is the story about Su Fu (Christopher Lee), an unremarkable man obsessed with becoming rich and constantly conniving to get the secret recipe to Hao Xing (Li Nanxing), his brother-in-law’s famous traditional Chinese pastry. He thinks they’ve got it made when a Fortune God (Mark Lee) stumbles into his and his family’s lives, but the Fortune God’s actions turns out to have hilarious consequences.
We get more background about Fa, played by Mark Lee, who aspires to upgrade to be a Fortune God. To achieve that, he needs to grants people’s wishes to collect enough gold ingots.
