Tom Cruise Plays the Outrageous Hustler in ‘American Made: Based on a True Lie’ !

Based on an incredible true story of Barry Seal, a pilot, and hustler who was not only a drug smuggler of the Medellín Cartel, he became an undercover informant for the CIA and DEA (Drug Enforcement Administration)!

Tom Cruise stars as Seal in the upcoming biographical crime film 'American Made: Based on a True Lie', directed by Doug Liman, where the pair previously teamed up for Sci-fi alien movie ‘Edge of Tomorrow’. 

In the featurette, Cruise and Liman explain the ‘absolutely outrageous’ lifestyle of how one man managed to live on both sides of the law. 

Lima says: “You get the most you can possibly get out of a life!”

Fun fact: In 2012, writer Gary Spinelli told producer Doug Davison that he was inspired by Argo to find out stories about the untold CIA scandals of that era, which led him to discover Barry Seal.
