Who's that femme fatale in 'Skyscraper'?

By InCinemas  /  26 Jun 2018 (Tuesday)

This video article is inspired by Hannah Quinlivan (昆凌), the wife of pop superstar Jay Chou, starring as a femme fatale in Dwayne Johnson’s upcoming action blockbuster ‘Skyscraper’, opening InCinemas 12 July.

Ok, we admit we are smitten by how sweet she looks as the slick henchwoman / lethal assassin just by looking at the trailer. Hey! We are not the only one that feels this way, The Rock thinks so too. Here’s a post from his Instagram, gushing over his co-star’s performance during filming:
Watch the trailer now if you've not seen it yet:

Let’s take this opportunity (or is it an excuse? Heh) to look back on other ass-kicking Asian villainess in Hollywood movies who captured our hearts.

Maggie Q in ‘Die Hard 4.0’ (also known as ‘Live Free Or Die Hard’)
She played the cyber-terrorist looking hot and kicking butt. The scene where she kicked the shit out of Bruce Willis’s character, John McClane, is clearly a highlight of this blockbuster sequel released in 2007.

Lucy Liu in ‘Kill Bill: Vol. 1’
She played the homicidal crime lord O-Ren Ishii in Quentin Tarantino’s violent revenge actioner. Her final duel with The Bride, played by Uma Thurman, is widely regarded as a gorgeously-filmed and edited swordfight sequence depicted onscreen.

Kelly Hu in ‘X2:X-Men United’
She played Wolverine’s nemesis, Lady Deathstrike, in this well-received superhero sequel. The climatic fight where they go mano-a-mano, clawing each other till the end, is just eXhilarating to watch.

Zhang Ziyi in ‘Rush Hour 2’
She plays Hu Li, silent and deadly henchwoman of the movie’s gangster leader. As expected she shows off her moves to both Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker, giving them a run for their money.
