UnReal co-creator Marti Noxon made her directorial film debut with ‘To The Bone’, which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival earlier this year to rave reviews. The feature will be out on Netflix this July.
Starring Golden Globe-nominated actress Lily Collins as the young adult battling anorexia, the film explores her constant battle with the eating disorder, her treatments at a nontraditional recovery programme, the struggles she faces, and her road to recovery. At the group home, she meets a doctor, played by Keanu Reeves, who helps her get back on foot.
Collins lost a significant amount of weight for the role, under medical supervision of course. The actress had previously shared that she battled the same inner demon during her teenage years, but as reported by Refinery29, she mentioned that this project was ‘incredibly rewarding’.
The movie also stars Lili Taylor and Carrie Preston and is slated to premiere on Netflix on 14 July.
