Alicia Vikander might be the Lara Croft we're looking for.

Before Lara Croft (Alicia Vikander) became the legendary Tomb Raider, she was a college student who barely makes her rent, skips college and navigates the street of London as a bike courier. When she found her late father’s study after solving a puzzle cube, she was drawn into the mystery behind his death and traced his last know destination to an island off the coast of Japan. On the island, she becomes a captive to bandits looking for a way to break into a tomb on the island.
This is not the tomb raider we know but a younger Lara Croft before she became a legend (the gaming one that is). Gamers may find the story quite familiar as the film is based on the 2013 Tomb Raider video game by Square Enix.
Tomb Raider breaks into cinemas on 8 March 2018.
