Real-life couple Alicia Vikander and Michael Fassbender star in writer-director Derek Cianfrance’s adaptation of the bestselling novel by M.L. Stedman, 'The Light Between Oceans'.
A madly-in-love couple (Michael Fassbender and Alicia Vikander) lose their unborn child, but devastation turns to a ray of hope when a tiny boat washes ashore with a dead man and a little infant. Tom Sherbourne (Fassbender) and Isabel (Vikander) long for a child of their own, decide to raise the little girl as ‘Lucy’. A few years later, they meet a woman whose sister (Rachel Weisz) lost her husband and baby daughter at sea, a time period that matches the time they found Lucy.
