It's been more than 2 decades since we saw Robin Williams playing the husband-turned-granny-nanny in the 1993 comedy Mrs. Doubtfire.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, there have been talks about the sequel which sees Williams and director Chris Columbus returning as star and director respectively.

The film was an instant hit, garnering more than $440 million in box-office sales worldwide. Williams went on to win a Best Actor award at the Golden Globes for his role in Mrs. Doubtfire, and the movie clinched the Best Picture (music/comedy).

The 1993 film saw Williams as struggling actor Daniel Hillard, who was desperate to maintain a relationship with his children following the recent divorce from his wife Miranda (Sally Field). In order to stay close, he concocts the elderly Scottish housekeeper and applies to be their carer with predictably disastrous results.
