By InCinemas  /  12 Aug 2014 (Tuesday)
It's a sad day for all of us as we mourn the loss of one of the greatest actor of all time - Robin Williams.

The legendary actor and comedian Robin Williams passed away on August 12 at the age of 63 in a suspected suicide incident.

Here are 8 of his most unforgettable roles.

1) Dead Poets Society

Williams proved he isn't just a funny man when he played a fun-loving, empathetic teacher who inspired his students through out-of-class activities and teaching methods.

Professor John Keating, you're missed.

2) Mrs Doubtfire

For the 90s kids, it is safe to say that Mrs. Doubtfire remains as one the most memorable films by Williams, his impeccable portrayal of the father-turned-nanny. It brought much laughter and joy, earning him the title of one of Hollywood's most talented actor. A sequel was initially planned for a 2015 release.

There will always be a Mrs. Doubtfire in us.

3) Genie in Aladdin

Our favourite genie. Williams lent his voice to Aladdin and set the bar of voice acting really high. A character well-loved by children all around the world and those young at heart.

Genie, you're free now...

4) Jumanji

Many might remember Jumanji because Williams brought the board game to live with his imagination, his comical side and the drama needed in the film. He makes a movie (or any movie for that matter) magical.

5) Jack

Williams not only showed the world what a capable actor he was, in Jack, he played a character with accelerated growth and channeled his inner child to screen. He made it believable, loveable and respectable.

6) Good Will Hunting

Though the movie might bring memories of the young Matt Damon and Ben Affleck, who could have forget the therapist Dr Sean Maguire who brought passion, love and motivation to the character and story. His moving performance won him an Oscar in 1998.

7) Night at the Museum

After a few years without Williams lighting up the screen, we finally see him again in Night At The Musuem as Roosevelt. It was great to see that familiar face on screen again. The third installment of the film is slated to release later this year and we will be able to enjoy Williams' performance once more.

8) Happy Feet

When it comes to voice acting, no one does it better Williams who voiced two characters in Happy Feet. We seldom come across an actor who will be given more than one character to voice, but with Williams, he clearly defined each character you wouldn't think it was from the same man! What a true talent indeed.

He had only recently finished recording the voice of Dennis the Dog in Absolutely Anything, which is expected to be released in 2015.

"But only in their dreams can men be truly free. It was always thus and always thus will be." - Robin Williams (1951 - 2014)
