This July, The Projector brings you Real to Reel, a carefully curated selection of documentaries that do more than tell stories. These films spark dialogue, inspire action, and challenge audiences to see the world with new eyes. From the frontlines of Palestine to concert halls in Japan, these films capture urgent global narratives while creating space for local dialogue and action.
 

This year's lineup includes:

Black Box Diaries | 27 July

Ryuichi Sakamoto: Opus | 6, 12 & 22 July


Premiered at Venice Film Festival 2023 to critical acclaim.

The late maestro's final performance - a breathtaking black-and-white concert film directed by his son Neo Sora, capturing Sakamoto's farewell performances of his iconic compositions mere months before his passing. 

 

The Sinking of the Lisbon Maru | 20 July & 9 August
