Bonnie Loo is No Longer A Young Girl!

By InCinemas  /  21 Oct 2014 (Tuesday)

20-year-old Bonnie Loo is no longer the young, little girl you saw on popular singing competition, ‘Campus Superstar’ last year.

Since clinching the overall title last year, Loo has participated in a couple of Channel 8 dramas such as The Caregivers, C.L.I.F. 3 and Against The Tide, starred as one of the main leads in Toy Factory’s musical Innamorati. On top of all that, she set aside time to prepare for her debut album, ‘Bonnie’, releasing on 24 October 2014!

“I am finally able to release my debut album and I am very excited to share my music with everyone,” said the singer at the press conference for her album launch.

“A lot of people might remember me from Campus Superstar, having the image of ‘Boonie’ as a student or a perhaps even as little girl. For this new album, I hope everyone will see that I’m growing from a ‘young girl’ to a ‘big girl’!”

Besides ballad numbers that the Singapore-based singer is known for during her competition days, she hopes to impress with a variety of music styles with her new album. In it, one of the pop-dance number ‘YOLO’ shows exactly her youthfulness and energy of a young adult. “It feels like a dream come true; I’ve always wanted to have my own dance hit to sing and dance to,” she added.

YOLO is the abbreviation for ‘You Only Live Once’. So what’s Loo’s ‘YOLO’ moment?

“I guess putting studies on hold for the entertainment industry is a YOLO moment for me. I’m not too sure how far I am able to go from here but I want to try and challenge myself. I mean, you only live once and opportunities like these don’t come very often. Since I’m given this opportunity, I want to continue to strive further,” explained Loo, who quit studies after completing Secondary School to pursue a career as a singer-actress.

She has no intentions of furthering her studies in the near future as she ‘enjoys this industry’ and ‘wants to improve her craft’. “Through this album, I hope listeners will see the different sides of me; from ballads to romance numbers and dance hits.”

Bonnie will be holding her first fan-meet event on the 22nd of November at Bugis Junction!
