New Rogue One Trailer Reveals Exciting Details
By Freddy / 14 Oct 2016 (Friday)
Star Wars just released its second official trailer for Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. This trailer has revealed new, exciting details about the story that have created much hype.
For the uninitiated, in this film Jyn Erso (Felicity Jones) leads a group of unlikely heroes to steal the plans to the Death Star, the Empire’s ultimate weapon of destruction. It is set between Star Wars Episodes III and IV.
Featuring more spoken lines in this trailer, we get an inside look into the Rebellion's desperation during this period. They were evidently devastated when they found out what the Empire is capable of. "If the Empire has this kind of power, what chance do we have?" said one of the Rebels in the trailer.
Watch the trailer below:
It is revealed that Jyn Erso is recruited because her father, Galen Erso (Mads Mikkelsen), is forcibly involved in the creation of the Death Star. This father-child connection is definitely something that feels very Star Wars. Speaking of fathers, we caught glimpses of Darth Vader in this trailer, too.
The origin of the "Rogue One" title is revealed as the "call sign" of the team. It's the name of the team, in a way. The trailer also demonstrates Jyn Erso's capability as a leader in her pep talk to the team about hope. “Rebellions are built on hope.”
The Death Star is featured more prominently in this trailer. We also got to see a lot of new locations, battles, and explosions. This gives confidence that despite not being part of the main Star Wars saga, Rogue One will be nothing short of epic.
Star Wars: A Rogue One Story will open in theatres on 15 December 2016.
