It appears things have come full circle for Ethan Hunt, the hero of the Mission: Impossible movies, a.k.a. Tom Cruise’s one and only movie franchise. In the first film — released 15 years ago, just to blow your mind for a moment — Hunt was “disavowed” as an IMF agent after a mission gone horribly wrong. Well, now it’s 2011, and the stakes appear much, much higher: In the new trailer for Mission: Impossible: Ghost Protocol (out Dec. 16), we learn that no less than the Kremlin has gone kablooey. The fallout? As a grim-faced Tom Wilkinson explains, “The president has initiated ‘ghost protocol,’” meaning every single IMF agent everywhere has been disavowed. Burn.
After that, the trailer is a whirlwind of international action and intrigue, including appearances by Mission: Impossible III alum Simon Pegg, and M:I newbies Jeremy Renner, Paula Patton, and a blink-and-you’ll-miss-him Josh Holloway. It all ends with an extended look at what is sure to be a climactic stunt on the Burj Khalifa, the tallest building in the world — which is to say, no, that building is not CGI. Check out the trailer for the film, produced by J.J. Abrams and directed by Brad Bird (The Incredibles), below:

Seriously, this trailer is tempting enough to make me want to watch the movie. The music, the actions and the last scene that makes my palm sweat.. Just look at the picture above! Tom Cruise is so high up away from the ground! I will most likely to fall as my hands will slip off from the glass-climbing gloves. Lol.. Well, action-packed as it seems, Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol only opens on 15 December 2011. There's still about five months away before you are able to watch Tom Cruise's latest Mission Impossible!
Hmm.. Speaking of Tom.. Anyone interested in a Tom Hanks movie? Larry Crowne is coming to theatres next Thursday! Just last month, Tom Hanks himself was here in Singapore for the ScreenSingapore Closing Red Carpet and Gala Premiere for Larry Crowne on 11 June Saturday!
Tom Hanks also spoke about this film. We were told that the idea came about 6 years ago and the screenplay took about 2 and a half years while Tom and Juliet Roberts were busying with their own commitments and finally got to complete Larry Crowne together.
"Originally we want to explore a man's reinvention.. A guy loses his job and ends up in college one reason or another. I end up in college and Juliet Robert is the teacher. Guess what happens?" Tom Hanks smiled and later added towards to end of the press conference. "You really have to be making something that is going to somehow matter and I think the only way it can matter, is if it's really something about you're trying to find. Even if it's silly comedy, superheroes or sci-fic, you have to land on a peculiar kind of square and somehow holding the mirror and examine the human condition. I think that's my job. I feel even better when we succeed in it."
So, won't you be interested to find out more about this movie starring Tom Hanks and Julia Roberts? Larry Crowne is also written, directed and produced by Tom Hanks himself. Watch its trailer below!
