Ever since James Cameron's 2009 blockbuster hit, AVATAR has been teasing about an upcoming sequel. We learn more about the series, the plans moving forward and the newest members of AVATAR SEQUELS.
For a start, AVATAR 2 is confirmed for 2020. Director James Cameron has started filming on Monday, 25 September at Manhattan Beach, CA. According a Daily Beast interview with James Cameron in January, the director said "The thing is, my focus isn’t on AVATAR 2. My focus is on AVATAR 2, 3, 4, and 5 equally. That’s exactly how I’m approaching it. They’ve all been developed equally. I’ve just finished the script to AVATAR 5."
AVATAR 2 takes place several years after the events of AVATAR where the Na'vi with the help of ex-marine Jake Sully manages to expell the humans from the planet. Sully (Sam Worthington) is now the chieftain and Neytiri (Zoe Saldana) high priestess of their clan. The story however, focuses on their children and the newest members of AVATAR.

JAMIE FLATTERS: Neteyam (neh-tay’-ahm) Jake and Neytiri’s first born son.
BRITAIN DALTON: Lo’ak (loh’ ahk) Lo’ak is Jake and Neytiri’s second born.
TRINITY BLISS: Tuktirey: (took-tee’-ray) She goes mostly by “Tuk” (rhymes with “nuke”). She is youngest of the Sully family.
Of the Metkayina Clan
BAILEY BASS: Tsireya (see-ray’-ah) “Reya” She is a graceful and strong free-diver – the young Neytiri of the ocean.
FILIP GELJO: Aonung (aw-nung’) Young male hunter/free-diver son the Olo’eyktan of Metkayina Clan.
DUANE EVANS JR.: Rotxo (row’-txoh) Young male hunter/free-diver of the Metkayina.
Former Hell’s Gate Adolescent
JACK CHAMPION: Javier “Spider” Socorro – A human teenager, born at Hell’s Gate but prefers his time in the Pandoran rainforest more than the asphalt of Hell’s Gate.
The cast brings back old members including Sigourney Weaver and Stephen Lang back as the Big Bad Evil Guy with Sam Worthington and Zoe Saldana reprising their role as Jake Sully and Neytiri respectively. AVATAR also brings familiar new faces to series including Game of Thrones' Oona Chaplin and Cliff Curtis from Fear the Walking Dead. Curtis plays the role of Tonowari, the leader of the Metkayina and the reef people clan.
The first AVATAR SEQUELS is expected to hit cinemas everywhere on 18 December 2020.
