After months of speculation, the verdict is finally in - former Twilight star Robert Pattinson is the new Batman!
The decision was only confirmed a few days ago.
Director Matt Reeves, the helmer behind 'Dawn of the Planet of the Apes' (2014) and 'War for the Planet of the Apes' (2017), said that it was down to either Pattinson or Nicholas Hoult.
The decision to cast Pattinson was reported to be a rather smooth one -
"Quicker than normal."
Reeves said he was attracted to Pattinson because of the actor's interesting and diverse post-Twilight career choices, choosing roles in smaller, albeit critically acclaimed, independent and arthouse films.

It is the first time a Batman movie has incorporated the white-eyed cowl from the comics and animated shows, a small hint at the different direction that Reeves is taking his Batman.
'The Batman' is expected to go into production in 2020.
