Marvel movies top Google movie searches in Singapore

2019 is coming to an end and as we look back on the events and top trending topics of the year, here are the top 10 most Google-searched movies in Singapore of the year.

Marvel Studios top the Trending Movies category with Marvel Studios’ Avengers Endgame at the top, followed by Marvel Studios’ Captain Marvel in 2nd place. Both movies, along with Joker (which came in #3) also made the list in the over ‘Trending Searches’ of 2019.

Marvel Studios’ Avengers Endgame is arguably one of the most hyped and anticipated movies of the decade. The epic conclusion to the Marvel Cinematic Universe with 22 movies over 10 years featuring superheroes that we never knew we needed. It’s superhero power Hulk-smashed the box office as this movie is now the highest-grossing film of all time in history with $2.782 billion! Who cared if the film was 3 hours long? Fans and moviegoers demanded the action and Marvel delivered.

Marvel Studios’ Captain Marvel was Singapore’s next most searched in its movies category. Perhaps it was because the cast and directors including Brie Larson, Samuel L. Jackson, Gemma Chan, Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck came to Singapore as part of their promotional tour that made Singaporeans all hyped up for its release and to meet the stars at the fan event held at Marina Bay Sands earlier this February.
