Wonder Woman Surprises the Wonder Women of Detroit on Good Morning America
By Rachelle / 29 May 2020 (Friday)
The wonder women of Detroit's Henry Ford Health System were in for a surprise when a very special someone decided to drop in on their video interview on Good Morning America (GMA).
The group of emergency workers at the Detroit hospital system are known to dress up as superheroes to “strut their superhero duties at work”. Erin Cavanaugh, whose go-to superhero is Wonder Woman, appeared on GMA alongside her colleagues Michelle Poole, Beth Gonzalez and Rena Laliberte, all dressed to impress in their Wonder Woman garb. The meeting was part of an arranged segment on GMA as part of the show’s ongoing tribute to America’s frontline workers.
The women told GMA's TJ Holmes that wearing the Wonder Woman garbs help give them strength, motivation or faith - both for themselves and their patients, many of whom are facing life-threatening illnesses.
Cavanaugh told Holmes:
Wonder Woman believes in people. She believes in love.
She saves people when people can’t save themselves. She’s the strongest chick I know.
Then who but Wonder Woman herself, Gal Gadot, joined the call, surprising the healthcare workers! Gadot proceeded to laud the women, calling them the real heroes. She further added that being able to portray Wonder Woman is a privilege and she was thankful to be a symbol of strength for real-life heroes.

The iconic DC heroine was first portrayed by Gal Gadot in Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice and then later again in her solo debut Wonder Woman and as part of a bigger team of heroes, 2017's Justice League.
Gadot is set to reprise her role as Wonder Woman in the upcoming sequel Wonder Woman 1984, slated for release in cinemas Aug 13.
