Jamie Foxx and Joseph Gordon-Levitt team up for a fun ride in Netflix’s action flick, Project Power. The film has scored a Top 10 spot in Singapore and overseas since its release last week and is praised for its performance, action sequences and visuals.
The film tells a story about a mysterious distributor who offers a free supply of “Power”–a pill that grants superpowers for five minutes–to a group of drug dealers, that unlocks superpowers unique to each user. The catch: You don’t know what will happen until you take it.
If you have caught the film, there is a scene where Gordon-Levitt’s character chases a bank robber with the ability to camouflage. Thanks to Netflix and directors Henry Joost and Ariel Schulman, we have the photoboards of that particular scene to share with you guys!
If you always wondered about the magic of moviemaking or how the creatives behind the camera come together to get a scene like this filmed and choreographed so seamlessly, this is a good inside look at how it looks on paper during the planning stage. We don't always get a glimpse of what goes behind the scenes of our favourite films or favourite action sequences, so being able to be see the hard work behind it makes us appreciate our films even more. For a short 2-minute scene in Project Power, the work starts all the way back with storyboarding and photoboards.
Enjoy!
"We lost a big interior bank location at the last minute and had to go out on the weekend and re-design the entire sequence from scratch so we hit the streets with our stunt team and cinematographer." - Henry Joost and Ariel Schulman
