There's more to the surprising cameo in Mulan than we know!

SPOILER ALERT!

We will be talking about the much-anticipated film - Disney's Mulan, that opened in cinemas last week - so if you haven't seen it yet, don't proceed any further unless you're okay with spoilers. But also, what are you waiting for?

You have been warned..

Ming-Na Wen, who voiced Mulan in the 1998 animated film, surprised fans when she showed up at the end of the new live-action film. She played the role of an “Esteemed Guest” introducing Liu Yifei's Mulan to the Emperor, a cameo appearance that was kept secret up until the film's release.

However, the initialy plan was for her to be in an entirely different scene. According to Ming-Na, she was going to be the potential mother-in-law for the matchmaker scene but that didn’t work out because of weather interference that clashed with her Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. schedule.

Thankfully, it all worked out in the end and Ming-Na still got her cameo appearance despite it being a smaller role than initially planned.

Did you spot her in the film?
