Schitt's Creek makes Emmy history with a clean sweep!

The series has won multiple awards from the ACTRA Awards as well as the Canadian Screen Awards but never an Emmy Award, until now. Schitt's Creek not only won their first Emmy this year after being snubbed and losing in the past but the series achieved what no other comedy series has in Emmy history!

The series won all seven comedy categories at the main Emmy ceremony, picking up statuettes for Outstanding Comedy Series, Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series - Eugene Levy, Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series - Catherine O'Hara, Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series - Dan Levy, Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series - Annie Murphy, Outstanding Writing for a Comedy Series - Dan Levy, and Outstanding Directing for a Comedy Series - Andrew Cividino and Dan Levy.

They also won Outstanding Contemporary Costumes - Debra Hanson and Darci Cheyne, and Outstanding Casting for a Comedy Series - Lisa Parasyn and Jon Comerford at the Creative Arts Emmys, bringing the series' win to a total of nine and becoming the most awarded comedy in a single year breaking a record previously set by The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel.
Schitt's Creek is a Canadian sitcom created by father-son duo Eugene and Dan Levy. It follows the trials and tribulations of the formerly wealthy Rose family when they are forced to relocate to Schitt's Creek, a small town they once purchased as a joke. Now living in a motel, Johnny Rose (Eugene Levy) and Moira Rose (Catherine O'Hara)—along with their adult children, David (Dan Levy) and Alexis (Annie Murphy)—must adjust to life without money and with each other.

The series had just concluded its 6-season run earlier this year, making this clean sweep win at the Emmys a perfect send off.
