Monster Hunter is coming!
By Rachelle / 06 Oct 2020 (Tuesday)
Disney and Warner Bros have been working on rescheduling their films out of 2020 and into the coming years but it looks like Sony Pictures has chosen to do the opposite.
Paul W.S. Anderson’s Monster Hunter starring Milla Jovovich is now moving up from its April 15, 2021 release date back into this year! The movie will be occupying the December slot that was previously held by Escape Room 2.
It was previously announced that the movie would be shifting dates but only within 2021. That was of course before the studio decided to suprise release a teaser that ended with 'only in theatres December'. Check it out below:
Monster Hunter is a fantasy action thriller that's loosely based on the video game series of the same name by Capcom. Alongside Jovovich, the movie also stars Tony Jaa, T.I., Ron Perlman, Meagan Good, and Diego Boneta.
The film features a world of dangerous and powerful monsters that rule their domain with deadly ferocity. When an unexpected sandstorm transports Captain Artemis (Jovovich) and her unit (TI Harris, Meagan Good, Diego Boneta) to a new world, the soldiers are shocked to discover that this hostile and unknown environment is home to enormous and terrifying monsters immune to their firepower. In their desperate battle for survival, the unit encounters the mysterious Hunter (Tony Jaa), whose unique skills allow him to stay one step ahead of the powerful creatures. As Artemis and Hunter slowly build trust, she discovers that he is part of a team led by the Admiral (Ron Perlman). Facing a danger so great it could threaten to destroy their world, the brave warriors combine their unique abilities to band together for the ultimate showdown.
Look out for it in cinemas December 2020!
