Le Noir - The Intimate Side of Cirque

By InCinemas  /  14 Mar 2013 (Thursday)
A spectacular show with amazing performers showing off their incredible skills, making it an unforgettable night of intimate cirque experience.

For the first time in Singapore, and direct from a sellout season in Tokyo comes Le Noir, an extraordinary evening of intimate cirque style entertainment starring some of the most incredible acrobatic acts.

The reason why it’s called ‘intimate’ is because the circular main stage is joined with a walkway where the performers come out from, even right to the stage door are seats for audiences to get real close to the act.

In addition, The MasterCard Theatre at Marina Bay Sands is deliberately transformed to ensure that the audience will be able to have a spectacular 350 degree perspective of the performance. For the first time, the Sands Theatre will be limited to a little over 1100 seats to create a unique and intimate experience.

You can expect acts such as aerial acrobats, hand balance roller skating, Pas Se Deux, Aerial Straps, Duo Trapeze, Mask Juggler and of course, the ever so funny and comedic host who entertained, prank and bagged all the laughters from the audiences.

It will be a visual feast for fans of all ages where you get to see the ensemble dressed in themes of white, red and black to describe the diverse range of our personalities. I loved how the lights draws the attention to the casts; it not only added mood to the atmosphere but also created a sense of visual imagery, which was spectacular.

While I enjoyed most of the acts, laughed so hard at the non-verbal comedy by the host and gritting my teeth at some of the most daring acts, I also found myself getting pretty annoyed at some parts of the show. The acts were amazing, it was my seat that got me irritated for I really wanted to fully immense myself in bringing what a cirque show would do - enthrall and entertain.

I was seated on stage, near the entrance of the ‘door’ that the casts come out from. While I appreciate the really intimate distance of admiring how well the abs and muscles are developed, I couldn’t see thing from the actor’s waist down when they are performing at the main stage. Not forgetting when the host gets down to interact with the audiences. I didn’t quite mind the back view of the casts, I just didn’t like how I have to stand and try to take a peek at what’s happening at the front stage.

I would urge you to buy tickets that are facing the main stage. If you intend to get tickets that are on stage, please try to get the first two rows for that, I must say is a pretty good seating area to enjoy the show.

The content is surreal, beautiful, seductive and at times, hilariously produced. The show is fast paced, extremely exciting and above all, entertaining.
