The inaugural Cathay Motion Picture 2012 competition was held last September with the aim of nurturing aspiring filmmakers in Singapore by providing a platform for them to compete with peers and showcase their work to industry professionals.

As 2012 marked Cathay’s 77th Anniversary, participants were limited to 77 hours to finish their film, from the start to the end with their 77-second motion picture for 7 judges to view, based on the theme ‘Celebrate’.
Registrations for this year’s competition starts in April and although we do not know what will be the theme or rules to perhaps a ’78 hours’ process, the organisers have said that this year’s competition will be bigger and better, including the prize money!
