Deadpool 2 has snatched the crown from Marvel Studios' Avengers: Infinity War during its opening weekend, earning US$301 million worldwide. While Deadpool 2 has clinched the top spot this weekend, it was unable to break its own record of US$132.4 million set by 2016's Deadpool during its opening weekend.

Regardless, the franchise has claimed the top two spots for largest opening weekends for R-rated films in America.
