Aniu’s 'Huat Ah! Huat Ah! Huat!' is his last film with ‘crooked teeth’!

The upcoming Lunar New Year film
Huat Ah! Huat Ah! Huat
will be singer-actor Aniu's (better known as Ah Niu) last film with ‘crooked teeth’. He extracted a total of 16 sets of teeth and had to endure the pain during the process!
“I’m very afraid of going to the dentist and have not visited one since 10 years ago,” he said during a press conference earlier at the Resorts World Sentosa.
“The extraction wasn’t painful, but the scary thing was to clean up the decayed tissues near the roots” He joked and even made a comparison to ‘Guan Yu’, the historical Chinese general who refused anaesthesia during a ‘surgery’. “I was reminded of Guan Gong who was so brave but I was struggling so hard when they were cleaning my teeth”
This film marks the first Malaysia-Singapore production for Hong Kong actress Joyce Cheng and is ‘very happy’ to be a part of it. “We ate lots of good food every day!” During an interview with the actress, she revealed she only drank fruit juices and avoided solid food for six days prior to the shoot. “I knew that be it Aniu or the crew, they will be taking very good care of me. There, they kept offering me good food to eat, eat and eat!”
With such a bubbly personality, Cheng is definitely a ball of energy to be around with. “People who have not interacted with me would think that I’m feigning my hyperactivity. Perhaps they don’t believe that there is such a person who can be that active for an entire day but in fact I really am like that,” quipped the singer-actress Cheng, who recently released her solo album in December.
Also the producer and music director of the film, Aniu nodded in agreement on Cheng’s hyperactivity on set. “I knew she is very hyperactive but didn’t know she was
that
active. I was shocked!”
For the cast, this Lunar New Year will be all about celebrating with their family members. While Cheng will be travelling around to be with her relatives, Aniu said he really wants to spend time with his daughter whom he felt he had neglected her for the past few years due to his filming commitments.
HUAT AH! HUAT AH! HUAT! opens InCinemas tomorrow, 30 January 2014!
