Shaw Lido - a new beginning to your movie memories

Wait a minute. Am I in Shaw Lido?

After a 7-month renovation since 1 October 2010 and a $20 million 're-imagining', I'm finally here at Shaw Theatres Lido and I can't wait to experience the first IMAX digital technology at LIDO IMAX (Photos below)!

The anticipation builds up while the long escalator carries you up to level 5! You're welcomed into the ticketing area where previously held the fast-food booths! The entire place looks much more spacious and gives a premiere feel. Supporters are already queuing before 9am to purchase Shaw's commemorative pass which entitles you to watch 4 (non-3D) movies from 5 - 8 May 2011 at a special price of $10!

Note the red carpet and the stylish lighting that makes the area 'special'.

While queuing for my turn, I actually overheard some discussion on how others feel about the place. There's a couple behind me saying that they feel like they're queuing to 'check in' to the hotel rooms while others were expressed their excitement to watch a movie in the theatres. Indeed, if the exterior already makes one feel more 'premium' and comfortable, then movie-goers will certainly expect the interior and the movie halls to be similar.

From the pictures released by Shaw Online on Facebook, it appears that every aspect of the Shaw Theatres is considered and 're-imagined' to give movie-goers an cinematic experience like never before!

Note the 'silhouettes' up above. They are remodelled from movie characters like Spider-Man. Creative?

What can I say about this? You got to get the feel yourself! It's awesome!
