Live-Action ‘Mulan’ Gets 2018 Release Date!

Disney promises to not ‘white-wash’ its casting.

That’s right! Disney’s live-action retelling of the classic animated musical ‘Mulan’ is set for a November 2018 release!

While not much details have been announced, the studio behind live-action adaptation hits like ‘The Jungle Book’, ‘Cinderella’ and the coming ‘Beauty and the Beast’ is launching a global casting search for a Chinese actress to play the titular character Mulan.

No director has been attached to the project, but it’s said that Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver (Jurassic World) were brought aboard to rewrite a spec script for Mulan that Disney bought in 2015.
