Be An Avenger at Marvel's Avengers S.T.A.T.I.O.N. Exhibition!

By Freddy  /  28 Oct 2016 (Friday)

Avengers fans now can experience the marvellous world of the Avengers at Science Centre Singapore. After successful runs in New York, Seoul, Paris, and Las Vegas, the Singapore edition of Marvel’s Avengers S.T.A.T.I.O.N. exhibition makes its debut in Southeast Asia.

The Singapore edition will be the largest and most interactive yet, combining elements of the exhibition in the previous 4 cities in an area spanning over 2,000 square metres. Over 7,000 tickets have been sold since the exhibition was announced in June. Besides being the first to feature Loki’s costume, it also promises to be grander than the others.

“Compared to the version I saw in New York, this one is kilat (excellent),” said Associate Professor Lim Tit Meng, Chief Executive of Science Centre Singapore.

“But I think this overall experience has never been done before because now we have every single element of the show that we created in New York, in Korea, in Paris, and Vegas together now under one roof and we’ve never done that before,” said Mr Nicholas Cooper, Chief Creative Officer of Victory Hill Exhibitions, the company who produces this exhibition.

Visitors will be able to embark on an immersive training as recruits for S.T.A.T.I.O.N. (Scientific Training and Tactical Intelligence Operative Network). Highlights include the High Performance Test Area where visitors can compare their reflexes with Captain America’s, the Hulkbuster Experience where visitors test their fight skills in Iron Man’s suit through augmented reality, and the Mjölnir Simulation where they can measure their worthiness against Thor. Fans will also be delighted to see the original props and costumes from the films such as Captain America’s costume, various iterations of Iron Man’s suits, and Chitauri weapons.

The exhibition will also be an educational one as it has been curated around the principles of science, done in collaboration with various organisations and academies including NASA. Visitors will learn about the science behind their favourite Avengers, such as the changes in Bruce Banner’s brain when he transforms into The Hulk and why his skin turns green.

“I created the stations. It was meant to be a science experience, not just an exhibit. And we wrapped it in this glorious, magnificent Marvel universe,” explained Mr Nicholas Cooper.

“We have been able to create a product that grounds our favourite super heroes of the Marvel Cinematic Universe in cutting edge scientific fact and theories that we hope will inspire a new generation of scientists, technologist, engineers, mathematicians and artists here in Singapore and around the world,” added Mr Nicholas Cooper on their vision for this exhibition.
