The Crazily Subtle Harry Potter Reference in ‘Disney’s Beauty and the Beast’ that Ninja Fans Spotted!

By Flora  /  24 Feb 2017 (Friday)

When there’s Emma Watson, there’s bound to be some kind of ‘Harry Potter’ references in her works, and the upcoming Disney classic, ‘Disney’s Beauty and the Beast’ is no exception.

A few days ago, Disney gave us a sneak peak of Watson’s crooning ability in a short clip of Belle singing the opening song ‘Belle’ and the Internet freaked out. Most of us are mainly going crazy over her character and the actress’s singing vocals, but a handful of ninja fans managed to sift out a small dialogue between Belle and Monsieur Jean that sounded similar to Hermione’s (Watson’s character in Harry Potter) conversation with Neville Longbottom in Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone.

The conversation in the ‘Beauty and the Beast’ clip goes like this:
Belle: “Have you lost something?”
Monsieur Jean: “I believe I have. Problem is, I can’t remember what.”

And Eureka! Fans linked this conversation to the scene where Neville shows off his Remembrall - a sphere that turns red when its owner has forgotten something. He tells Hermione “The only problem is, I can’t remember what I’ve forgotten.”

Check out some of the tweets from these eagle-eyed fans.
