More Photos of Emily Blunt in ‘Disney’s Mary Poppins Returns’ Released.

By Flora  /  09 Jun 2017 (Friday)

The Disney sequel ‘Disney’s Mary Poppins Returns’ sees the return of our favourite magical nanny - Mary Poppins - played by Emily Blunt.

Entertainment Weekly released a series photos of Emily Blunt in the titular character, a role originated by Oscar-winner Julie Andrews in 1964.

The film is set in 1930s Depression-era London, 25 years after the events of the first film. The upcoming fantasy movie is drawn from the PL Travers’ additional seven books. Michael (Ben Whishaw) and Jane (Emily Mortimer) are all grown up. After the sudden death of his wife, the entire Banks family is greeted by Poppins, who brings the children on magical encounters around the world along with the optimistic street lamplighter Jack (Lin-Manuel Miranda) where the children are introduced to whimsical characters including an upside-down, eccentric cousin, Topsy (Meryl Streep).

Andrews will not appear onscreen, but Dick Van Dyke (who played Burt) has a cameo role.

We think this is going to be… Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious.

Disney’s Mary Poppins Returns opens InCinemas Christmas 2018.
