Is an Obi-Wan Kenobi Spinoff Standalone Movie in the Works?

It seems like the Obi-Wan Kenobi spinoff film is set to join the ‘Star Wars’ cinematic universe!
The Hollywood Reporter
reports that Lucasfilm is in early talks with the Oscar-nominated director Stephen Daldry (Billy Elliot, The Hours) to direct the picture, about the Jedi master who was one of the key characters is George Lucas’ film series.
It is not known if Ewan McGregor will reprise his role, which was originated by Alec Guinness.
Sources say talks are at the earliest of stages and that the project has no script. If a deal is made, Daldry would oversee the development and writing of the project.
We now have a Han Solo movie to look forward to, in addition to the continuous Episodes: Episode VIII (
Star Wars: The Last Jedi
) and Episode IX. Does this mean that we can expect, or perhaps dream of a Yoda, Boba Fett, Rey or R2-D2 standalone films? We’ll be glad to even accept a Jar Jar Binks feature.
