New Movies InCinemas This October

By InCinemas  /  02 Oct 2018 (Tuesday)
New movie releases in the month of October offers an eclectic mix of different genres, from awards worthy dramas that will be the talk of the town next year, to buzz-worthy movies designed to entertain. Just sit back, relax and watch the good and the evil (in all shapes and sizes) battle it out on the big screen in cinemas.
[Click on the movie titles for more info]

Venom   (opens 4 Oct)
Everyone loves a super (anti)hero! Even though Venom has appeared on the big screen before in 2007’s Spider-Man 3, Tom Hardy’s iteration of Venom for this new movie definitely looks better and badder than ever! Watch out, Spidey! (even though Spider-Man does not appear in this one)

A Star Is Born   (opens 4 Oct)
Lady Gaga (making her first major leading film role) and Bradley Cooper (making his directorial debut) play star-crossed lovers in a story about a down-and-out musician who discovered and grooms a young singer into a star.

Project Gutenberg   (opens 4 Oct)
Chow Yun-Fat starring as a suave criminal in a cops-and-robbers thriller. The type of role that made him famous like his star-making character in 1986’s John Woo classic gangster film ‘A Better Tomorrow’. In this movie, he plays the mastermind behind a money counterfeiting organization controlling Aaron Kwok’s character.

Also opening on 4 Oct:
The Negotiation (Korean)

Shadow   (opens 11 Oct)
Veteran director Zhang Yimou is back with another historical epic inspired by the novel ‘Three Kingdoms’. The story follows a military commander who is trying to recover his kingdom from enemy hands and his shadows’s struggle for the freedom to live his own life.

Also opening on 11 Oct:
Heilstatten (German)
Hello, Mrs. Money (China)
212 Warrior: The Adventures of Wiro Sableng (Indonesian)
Paskal: The Movie (Malaysia)
The Happy Prince

First Man   (opens 18 Oct)
Neil Armstrong biopic starring Ryan Gosling as the man who first set foot on the moon. The director of La la Land reteams with Ryan Gosling for this intense true story “that’s one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind”.

Goosebumps 2: Haunted Halloween   (opens 18 Oct)
Sequel to the 2005 sleeper hit delivering laughs and PG-rated scares based on horror author R.L. Stine books.

Also opening on 18 Oct:
The Lingering (Hong Kong)
Lizzie
Baby (China) (opens 19 Oct)

Bad Times At The El Royale   (opens 25 Oct)
Set in a mysterious hotel with a dark past, a group of strangers with secrets to hide meet on a fateful night. From writer and director of the genre-bending thriller ‘Cabin In The Woods’.

Halloween   (opens 25 Oct)
A direct sequel to the classic slasher horror movie that started it all. The original and first ‘scream queen’ Jamie Lee Curtis returns to take on the boogeyman Michael Myers four decades later.

Hunter Killer   (opens 25 Oct)
A war thriller starring Gerard Butler as a submarine captain who teams up with a group of Navy Seals to rescue the Russian president and stop WWIII.

Zombiepura   (opens 25 Oct)
Singapore’s very own ‘The Walking Dead’ set in an army camp! Judging from the trailer, this local horror comedy looks like an absolute riot! (We mean that in a good way of course)
