New movie releases in the month of October offers an eclectic mix of different genres, from awards worthy dramas that will be the talk of the town next year, to buzz-worthy movies designed to entertain. Just sit back, relax and watch the good and the evil (in all shapes and sizes) battle it out on the big screen in cinemas.
[Click on the movie titles for more info]
Venom
(opens 4 Oct)
Everyone loves a super (anti)hero! Even though Venom has appeared on the big screen before in 2007’s Spider-Man 3, Tom Hardy’s iteration of Venom for this new movie definitely looks better and badder than ever! Watch out, Spidey! (even though Spider-Man does not appear in this one)
A Star Is Born
(opens 4 Oct)
Lady Gaga (making her first major leading film role) and Bradley Cooper (making his directorial debut) play star-crossed lovers in a story about a down-and-out musician who discovered and grooms a young singer into a star.
Project Gutenberg
(opens 4 Oct)
Chow Yun-Fat starring as a suave criminal in a cops-and-robbers thriller. The type of role that made him famous like his star-making character in 1986’s John Woo classic gangster film ‘A Better Tomorrow’. In this movie, he plays the mastermind behind a money counterfeiting organization controlling Aaron Kwok’s character.
Also opening on 4 Oct:
The Negotiation
(Korean)
Shadow
