In addition to unveiling the new iPhone series, Apple has also announced the launch of its long-awaited streaming TV service, Apple TV+.
Apple TV+ will finally be available in more than 100 countries, including Singapore, from 1 November.
The million-dollar question of how much Apple TV+ will cost is also finally answered, and it's not as expensive as what most people would think.
A subscription would cost S$6.98 per month with a seven-day free trial.
Netflix's Basic plan, meanwhile, costs $8.99 per month and its Premium plan costs $15.99 per month.
Some of the shows that will be exclusively streaming on Apple TV+ include the Jason Mamoa-starring epic sci-fi drama See; The Morning Show, a cutthroat drama starring Reese Witherspoon, Jennifer Aniston, and Steve Carell, exploring the world of morning news; Dickinson, a darkly comedic coming-of-age story, of the rebellious young poet Emily Dickinson; Sixth Sense director M. Night Shyamalan's new film Servant, a psychological thriller that follows a Philadelphia couple in mourning after an unspeakable tragedy creates a rift in their marriage and opens the door for a mysterious force to enter their home; and, last but not least, the Oprah Winfrey show.
According to the Apple website, "Subscribers can watch Apple TV+ originals both online and offline, ad-free and on demand, on the Apple TV app, which comes pre-installed on iPhone, iPad, Apple TV and iPod touch and will soon be on Mac with macOS Catalina."
"At launch, most Apple TV+ series will premiere with three episodes, with one new episode to roll out each week, while full seasons of some series will be available all at once."
