', Jon M. Chu is said to produce and possibly direct a feature adaptation of Mary H.K. Choi’s bestselling YA romance novel

The novel explores how social media can influence relationships every day. Lead characters Pablo Rind and Leanne Smart are star-crossed lovers who are very much opposites of each other but are attracted in an unexpected romance. They met one chilly night at 5am at a bodega store where Pablo works. As a school dropout while Leanna is a rich social media superstar has been famous since she was a child. When the two met, they soon become ‘a thing’ and the story follows the complications and how social media poses a unique challenge and their journey of self-discovery.
Choi will pen the adaptation and will serve as an executive producer on the project. Chu, who is also working on the sequel of Crazy Rich Asians, will produce the film through his production company Chu Studios Productions.
No premiere date is set at the moment.
