Disney+'s August Must-Watch List

By InCinemas  /  04 Aug 2022 (Thursday)

New month, new content to consume!

Here's what you can stream on Disney+ this August:

Disney and Pixar's Lightyear

A sci-fi action adventure and the definitive origin story of Buzz Lightyear, the hero who inspired the toy, Lightyear follows the legendary Space Ranger after he’s marooned on a hostile planet 4.2 million light-years from Earth alongside his commander and their crew. As Buzz tries to find a way back home through space and time, he’s joined by a group of ambitious recruits and his charming robot companion cat, Sox. Complicating matters and threatening the mission is the arrival of Zurg, an imposing presence with an army of ruthless robots and a mysterious agenda.

Featuring the voices of Chris Evans, Uzo Aduba, Peter Sohn, Keke Palmer, Taika Waititid, and Dale Soules.

Stream Disney and Pixar's Lightyear now.

Prey

Set in the Comanche Nation 300 years ago, Prey is the story of a young woman, Naru, a fierce and highly skilled warrior. She has been raised in the shadow of some of the most legendary hunters who roam the Great Plains, so when danger threatens her camp, she sets out to prove herself a worthy hunter. The prey she stalks, and ultimately confronts, turns out to be a highly evolved alien Predator with a technically advanced arsenal, resulting in a vicious and terrifying showdown between the two adversaries.

Starring Amber Midthunder, Dakota Beavers, Stormee Kipp, Michelle Thrush, Julian Black Antelope, and Dane DiLiegro.

Prey premieres on August 5.

Marvel Studios' She-Hulk: Attorney at Law

Starring Tatiana Maslany, Mark Ruffalo, Tim Roth, and Benedict Wong, Marvel Studios' She-Hulk: Attorney at Law is directed by Kat Coiro and Anu Valia with Jessica Gao as head writer.

The series follows Jennifer Walters as she navigates the complicated life of a single, 30-something attorney who also happens to be a green 6-foot-7-inch superpowered hulk. The nine-episode series welcomes a host of MCU vets, including Mark Ruffalo as Smart Hulk, Tim Roth as Emil Blonsky/the Abomination, and Benedict Wong as Wong.

Stream Marvel Studios' She-Hulk: Attorney at Law from August 18.

Welcome to Wrexham

Rob McElhenney (It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia) and Ryan Reynolds (Deadpool) bought the third oldest professional football club in the world. It is a Welsh team in the town Wrexham and the team was on the brink of dissolution. Welcome to Wrexham is a docuseries tracking the dreams and worries of Wrexham, a working-class town in North Wales, UK, as two Hollywood stars take ownership of the town’s historic yet struggling football club.

In 2020, Rob and Ryan teamed up to purchase the 5th tier Wrexham Red Dragons in the hopes of turning the club into an underdog story the whole world could root for. The worry? Rob and Ryan have no experience in football or working with each other. From Hollywood to Wales, from the pitch to the locker room, the front office to the pub, Welcome to Wrexham will track Rob and Ryan’s crash course in football club ownership and the inextricably connected fates of a team and a town counting on two actors to bring some serious hope and change to a community that could use it.

Welcome to Wrexham premieres on August 25.
