Dora the Explorer Movie Drops First Trailer

The first trailer for Dora and the Lost City of Gold, the animation-turned-live action movie, has been revealed.

The reimagined Nickelodeon series on the silver screen sees Dora navigating around her new life as a regular high school student, adjusting to her new life from the jungle. During a school field trip to a museum, she and her classmates were kidnapped, and Dora takes charge to find the City of Gold in order to save her parents from their captors.

Think of the movie as Tomb Raider meets Jumanji, an action-adventure shot for a younger target audience. The film stars Isabela Moner as Dora, Eva Longoria and Michael Peña as her parents, Jeffrey Wahlberg as a jungle inhabitant and Danny Trejo as the voice of Boots, Dora’s pet monkey.
