Christopher Nolan’s espionage film ‘Tenet’ drops first trailer
By Flora / 26 Dec 2019 (Thursday)
The upcoming sci-fi espionage film, ‘Tenet’ is said to be the filmmaker’s most ambitious film yet and this sentence is enough to get us all excited, having seen what he has accomplished with Inception, The Dark Knight and Dunkirk.
Warner Bros. dropped the first trailer and it gives us a glimpse of the direction of the film is heading to or at least let us in on what the title of the movie means - a codeword.
BlacKkKlansman breakout John David Washington is a spy (we think) and he needs to prevent World War III from happening. The threat that is ‘much worse’ than a nuclear holocaust involves him passing through different timelines in history and time-bending sequences. We’re talking a particularly intriguing scene from the online trailer of a reversed car flip sequence. In one scene, Washington’s character learns that he can’t necessarily ‘understand’ the world he’s living in, but rather he must be able to ‘feel it’. It’s bizarre but beautiful at the same time - that’s the power of Nolan’s films, we must say.
It doesn’t matter if you don’t fully comprehend what you’re watching in this trailer since no one really knew what Inception could possibly mean back in 2010. But one thing’s for sure: if you enjoyed Nolan’s non-linear films, ‘Tenet’, his 11th movie is one not to be missed.
Tenet also stars Robert Pattinson, Elizabeth Debicki, Michael Caine, Himesh Patel, Clemence Poesy and Dimple Kapadia, and opens InCinemas July 2020.
