Comparing Both Trailers of 'Spider-Man: Homecoming'

By Freddy  /  10 Dec 2016 (Saturday)

DISCLAIMER: The captions underneath the photos are from our own imagination.

Let’s welcome Peter Parker back to Marvel! Homecoming indeed. We have not seen much from ‘Spider-Man: Homecoming’ until now, but yesterday two trailers have been dropped.

Here is the US version of the trailer that debuted on Jimmy Kimmel Live:

And here is the international version:

There are a lot of scenes that both trailers share. We do not exactly get a lot more information from one trailer than the other.

We know that Robert Downey Jr. will appear in at least a few scenes as Tony Stark acting as a mentor to Peter (Tom Holland).

Oh, come on, Tony. That boy is half your age. Photo credit: Sony Pictures

We also get to see the main villain, Vulture, who looks menacing and accurate enough. Between Batman, Birdman, and Vulture, Michael Keaton just cannot escape dressing up as flying animals, can he?

Hello. My career needs a reboot, too. Photo credit: Sony Pictures

A few differences are immediately noticeable, though. The US trailer definitely has more comedy and shows more of Peter Parker’s high school days, which are absent from the international trailer. We get to see his best friend Ned Leeds (Jacob Batalon), his apparent crush Michelle (Zendaya), and his supposed love interest Liz Allan (Laura Harrier).

"Is that even a question? Tobey, obviously." Photo credit: Sony Pictures

"Both are kinda old. That kid in Civil War is not bad." Photo credit: Sony Pictures

These depictions seem to suggest a much more light-hearted tone than previous Spider-Man iterations, if you recall. Of course you do. They were not even that long ago.

The international trailer seems to emphasise mostly the action scenes and Robert Downey Jr.

Spider-Man: Homecoming comes home to theatres 7 July 2017. That’s a nice date.
